Slaughtered

Friday evening, I have been idling and afking in the corp for a while, being busy preparing the dinner and sending the kids to sleep. When I come back I see Brother Chaplin is asking me if I can fly the webber Loki that we use for C5 escalation sites. I acknowledge, and I grab my escalations Loki, currently my most expensive ship due the three True Sansha Stasis Webifier (200m each).

I join the advertised fleet and turn on Mumble, the usual when running these sites. The fleet is formed by two Lokis (Brother and myself), Archon (Mick) and Revelation (silent terror). I have run sites with them before, so everything should go smooth.
[ 2014.05.23 22:00:23 ] Brother Chaplin Rinah > you run site before
[ 2014.05.23 22:00:26 ] Chuck Turing > yes
[ 2014.05.23 22:00:29 ] Chuck Turing > c5?
[ 2014.05.23 22:00:30 ] Chuck Turing > yes
[ 2014.05.23 22:00:53 ] Chuck Turing > let me grab my loki
[ 2014.05.23 22:01:20 ] Chuck Turing > My ship5
[ 2014.05.23 22:03:39 ] Chuck Turing > when do i come in?
[ 2014.05.23 22:04:06 ] silent terror > warp to mick now
[ 2014.05.23 22:04:14 ] Chuck Turing > omw
I warp to Mick and start targeting battleships tagged, but only 30 seconds later after arriving to the site...
[ 2014.05.23 22:04:48 ] Chuck Turing > sisters combat are ours?
[ 2014.05.23 22:05:10 ] silent terror > new sig
[ 2014.05.23 22:05:12 ] silent terror > SUI
[ 2014.05.23 22:05:13 ] silent terror > scan it

We find it's a C6 inbound and Mick in comms asks for battleships and Orca support to roll it.I log Kippel in and get him into the orca. But it's too late, as we get quickly surrounded and bubbled for an enemy force.  Archon, two Naglfar, four Legion, two Proteus, one Damnation and finally a Devoter that bubbles us up.

ST broadcasted in jabber for support but it was already too late.

Surprise!

We were already scrambled and webbed by the sleepers so we are sentenced. Unsuccessfully we tried to set a primary but it was useless, we were totally outnumbered. I tried to rowboat out of the bubble, but being scrambled and webbed made it nearly impossible. Meanwhile my armor loki was holding I was looking at my EHP remembering Penny's advise, to eject from a close dead T3 to avoid losing a subsystem skill, but I was just about to be out of the bubble that I missed when what was left of armor was gone. And boom!

My first T3 lost, but at the end I was able to leave the bubble range and I warped out. I have to admit these guys did it pretty well, they rolled their own wormhole bringing the caps for some good kills and they got them fore sure. My pod was the only one that escaped from the slaughter.

Although we had funny moments, because in WHEN, we are like that :)
[ 2014.05.23 22:11:40 ] silent terror > who has dreads
[ 2014.05.23 22:16:17 ] Raul Itinen > well you have one less!
The only thing that was left, was trying to deny our enemies our assets, so I jumped into my hound and warped back to the site. They were now facing the sleepers and the bubble was still up. Most of the wrecks were all together because the mobile tractor unit had pulled them, and at least my ship for some reason was not looted yet but close. I turned my ship close to the wrecks and in a safe range to be out of the bubble and also at bomb range, around 30km.

I was pretty nervous as I could get quickly targeted by a sleeper and adding a hound to the already bad battle result.

Align at range, uncloak and fire bomb!

No need to tell you, I quickly cloaked and warped off.

It is done, we couldn't do anything else, so we exchanged some gf's in local and more.

[ 2014.05.23 22:27:30 ] IAmSeannn > if you have a route to empire we'll offer you a price btw
[ 2014.05.23 22:30:29 ] Zerund > theres a low via a c3
[ 2014.05.23 22:30:38 ] Zerund > your caps are gonna be here a day or so though
[ 2014.05.23 22:33:09 ] IAmSeannn > we'll offers there. you can contact our diplos bloemkoolsaus or loci monsta
[ 2014.05.23 22:33:28 ] Zerund > u didnt bring probes?
[ 2014.05.23 22:33:57 ] Zerund > i mean its one wormhole
[ 2014.05.23 22:34:04 ] IAmSeannn > ofc but were lazy

Those caps are still in the system, and perhaps it would take some time before they leave. So who knows what further fights we still can have at home. We will see.

Before closing this amusing evening let me show you the zkillboard report. My Loki looks more expensive than the standard, but the reason is the 917M Centum EANM I had in my cargo. During the fight ST asked to grab a cargo container, I did it because I was the closest probably, but until I didn't review the killmail I had no idea what I had grabbed, neither the value.

Following our traditional customs we updated our MOTD with a warning for our unaware colleagues and some wisdom :)

Brother also pointed us to the right picture that summarizes what happened today, I can't agree more.

So it goes. and goes, and goes, and goes - here is hoping it goes away quickly and the isk fills in the holes left from suddenly lost hulls.
